The Polish Financial Supervision Commission, or KNF, is a central body of government administration. Its task is to supervise the banking sector, the capital market, insurance, pension, payment institutions and payment services offices, electronic money institutions and cooperative societies. Supervision over the activities of the KNF is exercised by the Prime Minister.
The KNF’s key task is to ensure a stable, safe and transparent operation of the financial market in Poland. The Polish Financial Supervision Commission maintains a special public list of warnings, which most frequently list entities operating without an adequate permit.
