Established in 1934, the British Council is an institution representing the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the field of cultural and educational cooperation.
It pursues its activities with a focus on teaching English on six continents and in over 100 countries. Tests prepared by the University of Cambridge and conducted by the British Council’s branches are among the most popular general examinations in English.
In Poland, there are two educational institutions run by the British Council – in Warsaw, at 54 Koszykowa St. and in Kraków, in Szara Kamienica, or Grey Tenement House, at 6 Main Market Square.
